Houston's Top 10 Irish Bars
This tiny little Irish bar is worth every bit of day-drinking you'll have to do to keep a seat for the evening, so get here early on St. Paddy's day if you plan on staying late. And perhaps you should think about hanging out on the roomy patio if the weather is nice. No one wants to see your blinky "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" beads inside.

6. THE HARP
If you venture out to The Harp this St Paddy's Day, you could feel more like you're in someone's packed sitting room in Ireland than in a bar. That's a good vibe for an Irish pub to have, especially when it comes with beer. As a bonus, the Harp celebrates St. Paddy's Day with Irish dancers, live music, bagpipers, drink specials and, of course, blinky beads. It's like St Paddy's Day has become Mardi Gras with those darn things.

5. SHAY MCELROY'S IRISH PUB
This downtown pub is legitimately Irish -- owner John McElroy had the bar flown in from Dublin -- and will make you feel like you're back across the pond. The fenced-in patio is not technically in the street, but it still seems like you're brushing shoulders with the business district's foot traffic. The crowd here might seem more reserved than other Irish bars, but that should go out the window once the Bushmill's or Jameson's starts to flow.
