The Best Concerts in Houston This Weekend: Rozz Zamorano Memorial, Rodney Crowell, etc.

Bun B, Kirko Bangz
Warehouse Live, March 16

Here's something you don't see every day. Not Bun B and Kirko Bangz at a Houston rap show, but the two MCs sharing top billing at a hometown concert - and using Sunday to kick off a seven-week joint U.S. tour to boot. (It's also a fine way to bid the King of the Trill a happy 41st birthday.) We get spoiled around here, but think how the trill-deprived fans of Sacramento, Columbus or Greensboro, N.C. feel?

With their rap arsenals freshly stocked thanks to last year's Trill OG: The Epilogue and the upcoming Bigger Than Me, respectively, Bun and Mr. Bangz should leave Warehouse primed to take that slow, loud and bangin' H-town sound to the rest of a grateful nation. CHRIS GRAY

SIX OTHER SHOWS YOU SHOULD CONSIDER

Pimpenela: Argentine brother-sister duo Joaquin and Luica Cuervo have been fanning the flames of amor since 1981. (Arena Theatre, March 14)

Poor Dumb Bastards, the Grannies, A Pony Named Olga, Billy Joe Winghead, Copper Gamins: From San Antone cowpunk-promoters SausTex Media, this one might sting a little. (Rudyard's, March 14)

Mindless Self Indulgence: Jimmy Urine and his tongue-in-cheek NYC industrial/goth/techno/emo/whatever outfit return behind last year's How I Learned to Stop Giving a Shit and Love Mindless Self Indlugence. That about sums it up. (Warehouse Live, March 14)

23rd Annual KTRU Outdoor Show: All day (after noon), no pay with Steve Cox, Mikey & the Drags, A Sea Es, New York City Queens, the Suffers, FLCON FCKER, Young Mammals, Blouse and The Outfit, TX (Rice University Central Quad, 6100 Main, March 15)
