Houston's Top 10 Bars to Warm Your Ass Up
As our sister blog Eating...Our Words does, from time to time Rocks Off will be giving your our picks for the top taverns in various Houston-area neighborhoods. Of course, the lines can be porous, but here anything with a TABC license that cannot reasonably be considered either a restaurant, coffeehouse or live-music venue is fair game.
10. REMINGTON BAR AT THE ST. REGIS
The plush, rich interiors of hotel bars are the perfect places to warm up on those frigid nights, and Remington Bar at St Regis is no exception. Its pretty little fireplace is the perfect place to warm your wintery bum up while sipping something fancy. If they make hot toddies, we'd like one for each hand.

9. SONOMA WINE BAR
There's something great about hanging out in a wine bar by the fire, but only so many weeks in Houston where that sounds feasible. So take advantage of Sonoma while you still can -- no one wants to sip Pinot Noir by the fire in August, now do they?

8. NEXT DOOR BAR AND LOUNGE
We've often sung Next Door Bar's praises, but this little Memorial hotspot is even hotter in the middle of winter -- and on the patio, no less. We hear the firepits out in the 'burbs are the hottest.
