Is that a glowstick in your hand or are you just happy to see us?
Comedy = Good, Comedy Tent = Tragic
It's nice to see the festival taking comedy seriously and booking big names like Tenacious D, but the area they've designated for comedy performances is far too small and does a disservice to those names. Either give the big names time on a real stage or ditch the tent and add another big stage. People want to see Patton Oswalt, but they don't want to miss a bunch of bands they like because the only way they'll have the chance to is to camp in the comedy tent for three hours. CORY GARCIA

The Size of the Comedy Stage Is TOO DAMN SMALL!
I really hope this tent evolves into its own standalone large stage because goddammit it was hell to see or shoot anything here all weekend. There was a few big names in comedy that I missed because it was impossible to hear or see anything, much less get in to take any photos. MARCO TORRES

The Great Stage Debate
In year's past each stage was actually a pair of stages, and while one act performed another got set up on the free stage. This year it was down to just one stage. This led to what felt like a lot more downtime between acts, especially when 20 minutes just isn't enough time to soundcheck a band like The Polyphonic Spree.

I know that having one bigger stage means more room for production, but the lack of music at times was noticeable, and that was a bummer. CORY GARCIA

Pot Smoke
I'm no prude, I think pot should be decriminalized. But remember when it became rude to blow your cigarette smoke around in front of nonsmokers? When is that gonna happen with weed? My clothes reek. BRITTANIE SHEY

More FFFF "improvements" we'd like to see on the next page.

It'd be nice if they had screens/tvs/whatev at each stage (like FPSF, etc have) so that people standing in the back of the crowd could see more than tiny figures in the distance. During acts like Deltron 3030 it would've been cool to see a projection of the things happening on the stage.

Yeah, I agree with most of this. I still absolutely loved the fest but they changed so much for the worse. I don't get why you change a fest thats nearly perfect. Specially with the sound, that was pretty noticeable on multiple acts, you'd figure they'd have a much better sound system with the money they saved going with just one stage (also a bad decision, that was one of the things that made them special). Or maybe they just hired bad sound techs. Though I do completely 100% disagree with Television, they were fantastic. One of the best of the weekend easily.

Agreed on most counts!  We were commenting on the lack of trash cans all weekend!  I hate to litter, so I ended up carrying trash in my pockets all weekend until I spotted one.  And double shame on you Chi'lantro!  I've been singing your praises for years and was super let down with cold, bland food this year.

Could we maybe mention getting a couple new acts next year?  Glad that I finally saw Slayer and a few others, but my husband has been going for 7 years and the line up is getting a bit repetative for him.

No double stages, only 2 sets of bathrooms, 3 places to get your drink on, made for a much less enjoyable FFF Fest.

I'm mostly pissed that I now have to spend money to go to Untapped this weekend since FFF screwed The Walkmen over so badly on Friday. Hamilton's vocals were too low for the first 2 songs and they only allowed them to play ~20 minutes. I'm still all kinds of annoyed, and I'm sure they are too.

Blue stage got their sound together by the time RJD2 hit. Everything before that was awful

I agree with every bit of this article *except* for the Television slam. They ruled.
