30 Seconds With Los Amigos Invisibles
Julio Briceño (lead singer): It is hard to name just one because most of the time, what may seem to be the worst song for some people, is the best song for other people because it gets really famous. Lately, I could mention Gangnam Style. It doesn't say anything, and the front guy is not sexy at all but... It's a HUGE hit!
RO: What is the best lyric in the world? Please include title and artist.
JB: For me it could be either "Imagine" by John Lennon or "What a Wonderful World" performed by Louis Armstrong.
RO: Someone throws a beer bottle at you onstage. What do you do?
JB: It's happened before. I try to look cool. Trying to act that I haven't seen it and I will spend the rest of the gig avoiding the next one.
RO: Without worrying about space, time, or the laws of physics, what would be the ultimate gig to play, and why?
JB: Definitely not out in the space because I would like people to come to the show. Nothing more pathetic than an empty venue. I would love to play at El Salto Angel (Angel Falls) in the Amazons in Venezuela.
JB: A restaurant near the beach to run it.
RO: What would you buy with your last dollar?
JB: A newspaper and look at the seeking-jobs section.
RO: If you could canonize another musician, who would it be, and of what would they be the patron saint?
JB: Bob Marley. Saint of peace, love and ganja.
RO: What will be written on the plaque beneath the giant statue future generations erect in your honor?
JB: Really?! I don't think I'll have such and honor but let's dream on... "Worked hard and had fun".
Los Amigos Invisibles perform at 3:50 p.m. Sunday on Free Press Summer Fest's Neptune Stage.
