Houston's 10 Sweetest 420 Shows and Festivals
Sponsored by Cloud 9 Smoke Shop, bands like FLCON FCKER, Yokomono, Bloody Knives, Come See My Dead Person, Devil Killing Moth, Giant Battle Monster, Cosmic Bug Loaf, Free Radicals, Kumquat, and about a thousand others will be playing at this celebration of Houston art, food, and music.
If the music isn't enough to entice you, there will also be food, body art, glass blowing, a hookah lounge, and something called the "Pleasure Zone". I have no idea what the hell the "Pleasure Zone" is, but I'll be in there if you need me.
AvantGarden/Numbers (corner of Westheimer and Taft), 3 p.m.
Halfbaked 4/20 Party and Performance
Stereo Live's 4/20 nod, featuring music by Sosaman and Yung Ghost. This party is presented by Lace Fam and the Dough Boy Gang.
Stereo Live, 6400 Richmond, 9 p.m.
Homegrown 420 Music & Art Festival 2013
Think two stages, BYOB, and a bunch of bands -- Knocturnal Maddness, Torrid Complex, Brownies for Breakfast, just to name a few -- along with artists, food vendors, and a "Miss Homegrown 420 Bikini Contest".
Oh, and there's a bunch of free giveaways, including a guitar and cash money. And again, it's BYOB, which I'm going to presume stands for "bring your own bud" in this case.
The Compound, 2035 Wheeler (Near UH Central Campus)
ForTwenty: Scout Bar's 420 Party
I really thought Scout Bar was in Clear Lake, but the Web site swears it's Houston, so okay. This is their 420 party, featuring SIX GUN SOUND, Hold Fast Fables, and the Medicine Years.
I'm not sure how it's a 420 party other than that's what they're calling it, so if you drive out to HouCLEARLAKE under the guise of this being a 420 party, you're on your own if it sucks. Maybe call them first?
Scout Bar, 18307 Egret Bay Blvd., 10 p.m.
