The illustrious Fitzgerald's was once again the center of the city's rich music scene Saturday night, as it hosted the Red Bull Thre3Style Houston qualifier. Five of Houston's brightest and most talented DJ stars assembled in a battle for the right to represent Houston at the Regional Finals scheduled for Dallas next month.
A capacity crowd of 700-plus music lovers witnessed each competitor use his allotted 15 minutes to rock the party to the fullest, while being scored on mixing skills, creativity, stage presence, track selection, and audience response. The judges included current Thre3Style World Champion Four Color Zack, 2011 Thre3Style Champion Big Once, and multi-platinum music producer The ARE.

Describe your DJ style: I'm what's known as an open-format DJ. As opposed to fitting into one category as a DJ, I play all of it... house, hip-hop, dubstep, funk, soul, classic rock and roll. I take crazy left turns and just party-rock.
If you could tour with any musician or band, alive or dead, who would it be and why? Honestly... Michael Jackson. He performed some of the best shows ever, and I could show off my dance moves!
What is your favorite track of all-time and currently? Of all time, that has to be "Blackbird" by Paul McCartney. Right now, I'm really feeling that A-Trak Tuna Melt record, and the ASAP Rocky "Fuckin' Problem" is dope, too.
