The countdown continues! Yesterday we saw shadows eating Daniel O'Sullivan, kids stomping the yard to a Band of Skulls tune, gothic perfection from the Grave Babies, and two wonderful local entries by Kerry Beyer and Jennifer Grassman. Now it's time to look at some titans of the music industry, as well as some newcomers who raised the bar on the art of the music video this year.

Rewind:

The 25 Best Music Videos of 2012, Nos. 25-21

20. Kate Bush, "Lake Tahoe"
The legendary Kate Bush is apparently an accomplished shadow puppeteer, and shows off her hobby in a moving, beautiful video. The song is pretty, though it's never going to have the pop appeal of "Running Up That Hill." If you're a dog lover, get ready to cry your eyes out as Bush narrates the dreams of an old dog that still runs fast and wild in his head.

19. Steve Hogarth & Richard Barbieri, "Naked"
This video made me fall in love with actress Molly Kerr as she plays a woman dancing on an empty stage in order to overcome her crippling stage fright. Christopher Kenworthy and Kerr excel at telling stories of women undoing deep emotional changes, and Steve Hogarth & Richard Barbieri's Lynchian, vaudeville tune amps up the pit of the soul to eleven.

18. Lindsey Stirling, "Crystallize"
If you're one of those people who has lost all faith in humanity over the rise of Internet musical stars like Rebecca Black -- let's not forget that Justin Bieber got started that way as well -- then let me introduce you to Lindsey Stirling. Her amazing violin pieces have gained millions of hits on YouTube, and she is clearly very talented.

"Crystallize" is a hypnotic video that follows Stirling as she fiddles through the Ice Castles in Silverthorne, Colo. This is only one of many brilliant music videos that's she's produced, so make sure to look into her some more.
