Merry Christmas, High Rollers: The Most Expensive Vintage Concert Tees On eBay
A few days ago I asked Rocks Off fans on Facebook what the most they had ever spent on a concert tee was. Most people topped out at $50 for touring legacy acts, while some shelled out a lot more for hoodies and limited-edition tees.
Now the world of concert posters is a whole other animal unto itself.
Some commenters also said that they would rather wait until the merch they wanted was on sale in the artist's Web store for a discount, but where's the magic in that?
And then there are those who collect vintage concert tees, the shirts blessed enough to not get used as shop rags in the garage, cut up by angry exes, or donated to a clothes drive and then lost in the shuffle.
eBay has tons of shirts going for thousands of dollars. I know if I had the money I would probably buy one of these and frame it at least. I would hate to get wing sauce on a shirt from the Rolling Stones' '72 tour.
"These shirts were made in extremely limited numbers by a small mom and pop company as the backstage passes for the Knebworth Festival in 1979. This was worn and obtained by one of the members of Blackfoot!!"
"One of the oldest Rolling Stones shirts out there. Condition: Great! no rips stains or holes. Wear commensurate with age."
This festival included the Eagles, Ted Nugent, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band, and Aerosmith.
