First off, did you know that Alanis Morissette's trillion-selling smash album Jagged Little Pill turned 17 years old this summer? That means that the album itself is old enough to do some of the illicit things mentioned on the album, depending of course on its state of residency.

Jagged has sold more than 33 million copies since 1995. So guys and girls, break out the Doc Martens, baby-doll dresses, and bushy eyebrows, Alanis is back.

Morissette is coming to Houston's Bayou Music Center on October 28, touring behind her upcoming album Havoc and Bright Lights, which hits stores later this month. The 38-year-old mother and noted vegan has been off the pop radar for a few years now attending to normal life.

She's also had a varied acting career, playing "God" for diretcor Kevin Smith in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Dogma. There have also been guest spots on Weeds, Nip/Tuck, Up All Night, and others.

Don't worry, I didn't forget about You Can't Do That On Television. What?

It looks like Morissette's last Houston stop for a Jones Hall date back in October 2008 on the Flavors of Entanglement album tour.

Before you ask, yes she has been releasing new music since Jagged, four full albums to be exact, though most people jumped off the bus after 1998's Eastern-influenced Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie. The album did give us that sweet naked Alanis clip for "Thank U," which burned up '90s MTV.

The single "Hands Clean" from 2002's Under Rug Swept was pretty successful as well, and So-Called Chaos' "Everything" can be heard on a lot of girlie mixtapes.

Between this tour and the Spice Girls-flavored London Olympics closing ceremony, girl pop from the '90s is having a good year.

Tickets for the general public go on sale Friday, August 17 at Ticketmaster.com starting at 10 a.m. Houston time.
