The 10 Funniest & Weirdest Country Song Titles
Country music has come a long way as far as popularity goes over the years, from the likes of such bygone greats as Ernest Tubb and Eddy Arnold to current favorites Sugarland and Dierks Bentley. But it has always had some rather... interesting-sounding song titles to grace listeners' ears.![]()
Shall we count them down?
10. "You Look So Good In Love," George Strait
At times this classic George Strait song has good lyrics, such as when he tells her "he must have stolen some stars in the sky, and gave them to you to wear in your eyes." (Yes we know this is cheesy but oh well.) However, he hasn't apparently taken to the Seinfeld rule of breakups: "You should just do it like a Band-Aid. One motion! Right off!"
9. "Did I Shave My Legs For This?", Deana Carter
Though it's definitely meant to be tongue-in-cheek, nothing screams "trailer trash" more than this song, which is also the title of Carter's 1996 debut album. The album itself is a classic with such songs as "Strawberry Wine," "How Do I Get There From Here" and "That's How You Know It's Love." and "Did I Shave My Legs for This?" However, this song is laughable and as the title song makes the otherwise good album seem likewise.
8. "Redneck Woman," Gretchen Wilson
When I first heard this song on CMT back in 2004, I thought, "this is one fun, crazy, wild, and cool country song that's relatable to some people I know -- yet love." Wilson has a sense of humor and it shows in her lyrics:
Victoria's SecretWell their stuff's real nice
Well, but I can buy the same damn thing
on the Walmart shelf half price.
