Rap Round Table: Who Is the Greatest Movie Villain of All Time?
Some rappers happen to be thoughtful, intelligent people. Each week, Rocks Off will have some of them here discussing issues relevant to their culture.
Not Invited: Michael Myers, because fuck that guy.
This Week's Prompt: They were showing Full Metal Jacket on TV recently, which is just about the best. The question, then: Who is the greatest movie bad guy of all-time? Go.
Renzo: Damn, that's a great question. I'm going with Denmoteb [Imhotep], or however you spell that shit, from The Mummy. He didn't talk. He just showed up and started fuckin up EVERYTHING.
Remember when he turned into the sand and "ate" them? Yes, you do. Who's fuckin' with that? Surely not Darth Vador OR Candyman. They are unable to fuck with him. Runner-up: I'm goin with Texas Chainsaw Massacre dude. Heart of darkness.
Purple Bastard: Either Rutger Hauer from Blade Runner or Daniel-Day Lewis from There Will Be Blood. Both were vicious and complex.
Mac: Tony Montana [Scarface]. Cuban sold a lot of coke in Miama, made a bunch of money, killed bosses, killed his friend for messing with his sis.
Preemo: The bad guy from No Country for Old Men, Anton Chigurh [Javier Bardem].
hasHBrown: Biased opinion: Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. Tragically evil but becomes good in the end. Unbiased: Success/money in Scarface.
Marcus Manchild: Nicolas Cage be fuckin' people up on his movies, mayne. [laughs]. That's easy.
Mic Skills: The Joker [Heath Ledger] in Dark Knight. He was sinister, maniacal, well thought out and hilarious. Runners-up: The Butcher from Gangs of New York [Day-Lewis]and Teddy KGB from Rounders [John Malkovich].
Show: Darth Vader. Most intimating, most compelling origin, most influential. A badass among badasses.
Yung Truth: Denzel Washington, Training Day. Because corrupt police are real and fuck up your life with no consequence. Ask HPD. They know.
