Mess With Texas Festival Returns To Mess With SXSW

Categories: SXSW, This Just In

Mess With Texas, Austin's antidote to the crowds of badge-holders clogging the streets and the mile-long lines coming out of showcases during South By Southwest, has returned for 2012 with a lengthy lineup for three days of music, March 15th, 16th, and 17th. This year the festival will be located at 1100 E. 5th St. on Austin's Eastside, which has overtaken points west of I-35 as the "cool" part of Austin.

The festival, which you can gain entry to by hurrying up and sending in your RSVP information here, has a whip-ass list of bands loaded up this year, including Built to Spill,
A$AP Rocky, Cults, The Men, Cloud Nothings, Titus Andronicus and Houston's own Fat Tony, who is currently on the west coast making music for you to blow your mind to.

MWTX is in effect, the spring version of Fun Fun Fun Fest, and run by the same folks at Transmission Entertainment, so you know you are good hands if have ever been to FFFF.

Here is the full lineup for MWTX 2012. Remember, you must RSVP, and speaking from experience, your best bet is to show up early to the venue to gain entry. Doors are at 12 p.m. everyday. Each day is first come first served, so RSVP does not necessarily guarantee entry.
