A man was shot and killed after another man at the Southwest Houston restaurant where he had just sung karaoke took issue with his song choice, according to Channel 13.

The incident occurred in a taqueria near Hillcroft and Sands Point around 2 a.m. Police say the two men began arguing after one finished his song and the other shot him in the head. The gunmen and his friends left the scene in a red pickup truck, according to investigators, and two women were seen leaving the scene in a green Nissan Pathfinder.

Karaoke-related violence could be on the rise.

This morning's shooting is similar to another episode in Shingletown, Calif., last month, when a man singing a Kenny Chesney song was wounded in the arm by his father. Earlier that evening, Kenneth Oiler Sr. was overheard saying "I'm gonna shut you up" to his son and returned to his home with a handgun. Both men somehow sustained gunshot wounds.

"Karaoke is a powder keg," commented Pribek, the blogger who noted the California incident.

In 2010, The New York Times reported on a string of fights in The Philippines where the choice of Frank Sinatra's "My Way" had led to a number of fights, so many that local police began referring to them as the "'My Way' Killings."
