Yes, we are now on the twenty-eighth Buzzfest in Houston history, with the all-day show on April 21 boasting a lineup that includes Korn, The Dirty Heads, Blue October, Evans Blue, Evanescence and Cage The Elephant, plus undercards Foxy Shazam, MuteMath, Neon Trees, and the Features.

It's hard to believe that 94.5 The Buzz's now biannual BuzzFest is now 28 festivals old. We remember back in 1995 when we were begging our parents for tickets to the first one, featuring Bush, No Doubt and pop wizard Matthew Sweet.

Rocks Off has covered the last few biggies, including the May 2010 edition with Limp Bizkit and the Deftones -- hey, I dug it -- and last October's Filter, Staind, Bush, and Chevelle throwdown, which also had locals thelastplaceyoulook as a part of the action early in the day.

Last October ahead of the show, Rocks Off did an overview of all the lineups the festival has had since 1995. You would be amazed by the groups that cut their teeth on national stardom at Buzzfest. Foo Fighters and Creed on the same 1998 bill? It happened.

Buzzfest's last spring show came on the same night that the world discovered that Osama Bin Laden had been killed by U.S. Navy SEALs and CIA operatives. Jane's Addiction was onstage closing out the night when lead singer Perry Farrell excitedly announced to the crowd that the terrorist supreme was dead.

As with most Buzzfests, tickets go extremely fast. They go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation and the radio station Web site, but keen listeners can probably snag a pair during the station's soon-to-be abundant giveaways.
