Roger Waters And The Wall Return To Houston May 1

Now that the Halloween season is officially over, all of you rock nerds can throw this show on your Christmas wish list. Former Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters is bringing his big-budget concert production of the band's concept album The Wall back to Houston and the Toyota Center on May 1 for the first date of his upcoming 36-date tour of North America. Waters and his wall were previously here in Houston last November for a gripping performance also at the arena downtown.

The concerts got rave reviews across the globe, with Waters and his team constructing a state-of-the-art wall onstage in front of the audience as his double album of disillusionment and rock excess unfolded before us. Back in May at London's O2 Arena, former Waters bandmate David Gilmour guested on "Comfortably Numb" on the top of the wall, thrilling Floyd fanatics. It was a one-off appearance, obviously.

Rocks Off sent two writers to the show last November for good measure, and photographer Jim Bricker turned in some of the best live shots of last year. This may very well be Waters last jaunt through Houston with the wall, and Floyd fans are urged to try to make this gig.

Waters himself has been cagey in recent interviews about further touring efforts behind Floyd material. In 2008 he performed Dark Side Of The Moon in its entirety on tour for few months, including a date in the Woodlands. Fans have clamored for other more obscure Floyd albums to be performed in full for years now, but none can compete with The Wall or Dark Side.

Tickets for Houston date go on sale November 14 at the Live Nation website.
