Warehouse Live was packed with college kids as Scoremore promotions brought Chip tha Ripper back to Houston for his second headlining show in the city.

Warner Bros. artist XV opened for Chip with a vivacious performance including the catchy "Vizzy Vizzy Vizzy." XV grasped the crowd's attention with some a cappella freestyling and got everyone dancing by playing oldies but goodies like Biggie's "Juicy" and Aaliyah's "One In a Million."

As Houston Press Music Awards nominee DJ Mr. Rogers provided the sounds between sets, the audience danced and rapped every lyric to Z-Ro's "Mo City Don" and Big Moe's "Barre Baby."

Rogers played lots of H-Town classics, which always the sets a good mood in a smoky atmosphere like Warehouse Live's studio, and premiered a brand-new track he produced with Slim Thug and Mac Miller.

"We gotta let Chip know he's in Houston!" Rogers exclaimed.

It was announced that Thursday was Chip tha Ripper's birthday before he surfaced onstage with his DJ, a drummer and a guitarist. Donning a Louis Vuitton jacket, belt and dark shades, Chip opened his set with "We In This Hoe." The audience became even more enthusiastic each time Chip shouted out OG Ron C in a song.

Since we could hear lighters being flicked in between each song, the crowd really seemed to enjoy the energy of the show. The last time we saw Chip headline a show in Houston was last August at Fitzgerald's but he seemed to be right at home again at Warehouse.

"I like this shit, it's real intimate, feels like I'm doing MTV Unplugged now with this live band behind me" Chip said before flashing a smile.
