Zombies or vampires? It's a classic debate along the line of The Beatles vs. The Rolling Stones. We're not sure the Fab Four qualifies as either monster, but with The Glimmer Twins' propensity to remain upright and touring despite advanced age, decay, and a million other complications that should have seen them sidelined years before, The Stones are unquestionably zombies.

We're on Team Stones as far as bands go, and if asked to choose a preferred monster we'd have to go with vampires (two words, people: Lost Boys). But thanks to The Twilight Saga's overexposure and general wussification of blood suckers, zombies have become increasingly popular, in both pop culture and music.

We've already paid homage to top 10 zombified music videos of all time, but there are quite a few musical acts named for the walking dead as well. And a whole crap load of zombie-themed songs. So in honor of Halloween we've listed our ten favorites in each category below.

Zombie Girl
Release of Zombie Girls' second album, Blood, Brains, and Rock and Roll (2007), was delayed after three different companies refused to print the original cover art that featured a brain on a plate amid a massive pool of blood, and the Canadian industrial rock group originally comprised of husband-and-wife duo Sebastian Komor and Renee Cooper has since become a solo act following allegations of abuse by Komor.

"Alaska's most awesome and best acoustic emo improv band!," well, at least according to the band themselves. They go on to say, "First of all, we are a band. Second, we are ACOUSTIC, meaning that you can hear us audibly, using your ears. Third, we are REALLY emo. We are so emo it hurts. Our music has even been known to bring the most discerning musicians to tears."
