Which Rapper(s) Should Headline Summer Fest 2012?

Categories: Rap Round Table

Some rappers happen to be thoughtful, intelligent people. Every Monday that isn't the day after a gigantic local music festival, Rocks Off will have some of them here discussing issues relevant to their culture.

Not Invited: That shitty new Teen Wolf show on MTV.

This Week's Prompt: So now that it's over, question: Which non-local rap act would you like to see on the bill at next year's Summer Fest?

Trae: I'm still pissed they ain't get at me. But thanks to my big bro Big Boi, I still represented. And by the way, tell 'em I said Street King is on the way.

Wreck: Tupac.

Rap Round Table: We don't imagine that'd be a very good show. He'd just sort of lay there, probably. Get eaten by bugs and decompose and so forth.

Roosh Williams: I'm admittedly not too familiar with Summer Fest, but Atmosphere and Slaughterhouse would be awesome to see at a big event here. Blue would be great too, reasons being personal bias.

Kyle Hubbard: I'd really like to see Lupe Fiasco rock it. He's a high-caliber star, one of my favorite MCs and he has already has a strong Houston connection. Seeing "Hip-Hop Saved My Life" live in the H is like a religious experience.

Preemo: I'd have to say Busta Rhymes. Great performers and so far and few between; Busta rocks the microphone every time. Best live emcee I've seen.

Mac: West Coast rapper Messy Marv. [He] made a name for himself independently. In north Cali, he is equal to Z-Ro in H-town.

Lil O: Jeezy. He has a catalogue.

hasHBrown: Nobody. They need more local hip-hop acts on the bill.

Ed. Note: Odd Future.
