California, look what you've done.

This morning, the Billy Corgan Experience Smashing Pumpkins, who managed to visit Houston twice in less than three months last year, debuted the track "Owata" on West Coast Sound, the music blog of Houston Press sister paper L.A. Weekly.

The chiming "Owata," heavy on either dulcimer, 12-string guitar or both (Lindsey Buckingham, anyone?), is the tenth song released in the Pumpkins' ongoing one-track-at-a-time Teagarden by Kaleidyscope project the band began a while back on its Web site, and the last before they go into the studio to record Oceania, which Corgan describes to WCS as an "album within an album" offshoot of Teagarden. Got all that?

"Even thought I pronounced the album dead, I guess I still want to do another one," he says.

In further Pumpkins news, after securing all the rights to the band's unreleased material, Corgan plans to begin an expanded reissue campaign with Gish, Siamese Dream and Pisces Iscariot this year; Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, The Aeroplane Flies High and Adore in 2012; and Machinas I and II in 2013.

Check out the song here. After 24 hours, it will become a free download on the Pumpkins' Web site. See where Corgan is coming from in this Weekly interview from 2010.
