Out Today: Tyler, The Creator's Goblin, The Cars Restarted...

​We now live in a world where Adele is a chart-topping artist, placing at number one slot the past few weeks, rubbing shoulders with the Foo Fighters, Katy Perry, Mumford & Sons, and Britney Spears. If Adele's 21 isn't on the top of everyone's best-of 2011 lists, there is no justice in the world.

And yes, we are still listening to the new Foo Fighters album, but only, like, twice a day a now. After last week's Arcade Fire show, we sort of went on a detour with the Canadian band for journalistic purposes.

Don't worry Dave, we still loves you.

Here is a rundown of what you should be buying this afternoon after work, including the titanic, scatological debut of Odd Future's Tyler, The Creator, the first new Cars album in 24 years, and the bro-tastic Lonely Island album soon to be bumping from frat houses from coast to coast.

Tyler The Creator, Goblin: "I'm not a fucking role-model, I'm a 19-year old emotional fucking roller-coaster pipe-dream," drawls Tyler, The Creator on his new LP, Goblin, talking to his therapist/devil. The next seven minutes of the title track is Tyler talking to himself about Twitter, not being able to to kick-flip anymore, the word "faggot," and teen violence.

"Radicals" opens with a disclaimer and a hearty "Fuck Bill O'Reilly." If you are old enough know better, you will get off on the fact that you aren't this angry anymore, and if you are Tyler's age, it will be your Ramones. As for Rocks Off, we just can't wait to spend the next 50 years with this kid. You won't get much rawer than Goblin this year.

Gang Gang Dance, Eye Contact: This is Gang Gang Dance's fifth album since 2004, and easily the most varied and worldly. GGD takes you to parts of the aural world you didn't know existed, that aren't even on maps. To chill-wave kids though, this stuff is old hat.

Okkervil River, I Am Very Far: Okkervil front man Will Sheff goes Americana Bowie on the Austin band's latest album, and it pays off. The moodiness of the band's output remains, but now there are strange drums and choruses attached. Check out "Piratess" below to see what we mean.
