Not counting the fireworks, Woodlands native Jack Ingram, one of the first artists to cross over from the Texas Music circuit to mainstream country success with songs like "Wherever You Are," "Maybe She'll Get Lonely," and his cover of Hinder's "Lips of an Angel," will headline the City of Houston's annual Freedom Over Texas festival July 4 in Eleanor Tinsley Park, the city announced this afternoon.

Country artists Chris Young ("The Man I Want to Be," "Gettin' You Home") and Rodney Atkins ("If You're Going Through Hell," "Cleaning This Gun") will also perform. A handful of local acts are usually added to the FOT bill later on. Gates open at 4 p.m., and admission is $8 or free with a can of food for the Houston Food Bank. Children two and under get in free.

The best part about this afternoon's announcement is the photo of Mayor Annise Parker after the jump, which is both patriotic and a little disturbing.
