The soundtrack this week comes from Chamillionaire, who dropped his new mixtape, Major Pain 1.5. He talked to Rocks Off's Shea Serrano about it earlier today.

As always, let's take a look at the local show calendar. Cactus Music has a trio of appearances tomorrow, including Will Taylor with Strings Attached, Something Fierce, and Young Girls. That's six free beers if you plan right.

Jessica Lea Mayfield drops by Fitzgerald's tonight.

Omotai and Cavernous will destroy some ears at The Mink tonight.

The adorable and energetic Yelle, of France, will bounce around Fitzgerald's tomorrow night.

The Psychedelic Furs are also in town tomorrow, with a stop at Warehouse Live.

Sleigh Bells follows up the Furs with a show at Warehouse Sunday night.

Thursday, Giant Princess (above) tried to kick the pants off of the Sidekick 4G contest, and apparently they were cut short. IndieHouston has some video from the performance. We're told that the band replied with the simple answer of "poverty" when asked what inspired them to begin writing music. The crowd reportedly began to laugh, to which singer Colin Hedrick allegedly retorted, "poverty is nothing to laugh about."

A few weeks ago, Trae Tha Truth was the busiest rapper in town. Now it's Chingo Bling's turn. After his mixtape dropped last week, he's released three music videos, "Roman's Rebenge," "Dipset Freestyle" and One Deep". Plus, he's shooting another one on Sunday.

Missed Bun B's public forum with Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, and others? Well, now everyone can watch the entire 100-minute session.
