French Beatbox Master Spits American Hip-Hop History in Four Minutes

Damn the French.

After seeing French rapper and human beat box, Eklips, deliver America's hip-hop history in a little over four minutes through a beautifully executed tirade of amazing vocal percussion and imitation of musical sounds, it reminded Rocks Off of the 2006 movie Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, where French race car driver Jean Girard, played by Sacha Baron Cohen verbally slaps Ricky Bobby, played by Will Ferrell, on America's contributions to the world.

We think you know the part.

Jean Girard: Well, what have you given the world apart from George Bush, Cheerios, and the ThighMaster?
Ricky Bobby: Chinese food?
Cal Naughton, Jr.: Chinese food.
Jean Girard: That's from China.
Ricky Bobby: Pizza.
Jean Girard: Italy.
Cal Naughton, Jr.: Chimichanga.
Jean Girard: Mexico.
Ricky Bobby: Really, smarty-pants? What did French land give us?
Jean Girard: We invented democracy, existentialism, and the Ménage à Trois.
Cal Naughton, Jr.: Those are three pretty good things.

Ricky Bobby should have said, "Well, we gave the world hip-hop." That would have been the end of the scene right there.

American Doug E. Fresh is one of the early pioneers of beatboxing and known as the original "Human Beat Box." We wonder if Doug E. could not only out beatbox Eklips on a hip-hop history beatbox session, but if he'd choose different tracks.

Eklips is one of three members of a French band called Le Remède. That doesn't sound very tough. Run D.M.C. Now that's a trio that sounds tough. All joking aside, Eklips is an obvious talent and one to be respected (We guess). You can learn more about Eklips at http://www.myspace.com/eklipsofficial.
