Last Night: Janet Jackson At RodeoHouston

• I agree the show was a little disappointing. I went to see Alicia Keys. She was awesome and no costume change and I could hear her, but I couldn't hear Janet at all. She should of wore something that she was comfortable in the beginning and maybe she would of not changed. I got more out of Alicia Keys concert than Janet's.

• Maybe it was just in the Club Level, but no one in my section could understand one word of the tribute or Janet Jackson's songs. Sound was horribly garbled. Did the concert sound ok elsewhere?

• I have been reading other ppls comments below, some had good comments, some had bad. Well, I ENJOYED the show. It wasn't a full tour but I expected that because this was not her actual Tour, it was a Houston Rodeo performance. The bottom line is, the show was good, she looked great. People that don't like her, are going to diss the show and performance, that's a given I guess. People that are her fans, are going to say they loved it. I'm a fan and I loved it.

• First, it's my opinion you moron, so live with it. And they do let acts play over an hour. She started at 9:00PM and was off the stage at 9:52PM. With her costume change of about 8 minutes, she barely played 35-40 minutes which is NOT the standard at the Rodeo. And, yes, I would expect better sound and a longer show at Toyota or Cynthia Woods, but it would be nice to at least make out the words to the songs. I saw U2 at Reliant with good, not great sound, but I expect that at a stadium. You CAN get decent sound there, and they have, as I've gone to well over 20 Rodeo shows there. And if you can't even hear it, it's not worth the $25 I spent per ticket. Look at the mirror if you want to see the true idiot and sucker. If last night is acceptable to you, then you deserve crappy sound and short concerts.

• Just a quick observation from a long-time fan: "Nasty Boys" is not a song title.

• good write up chris. janet did the damn thing there was a couple of songs i wish she would of done. she seemed to focus on her work from the 80's-early90's. also the sound felt off a little bit in the beginning. But for real they NEED to have prince there next year.

• I agree completly. I was never a fan of hers but my wife is. The whole thing was a mess. Really a warddrobe change for a 45 min concert? Waste of time and money

• It was a great show, as expected. If only she had the proper time to do the full show it would have been hard to beat. As much as I love Miss You Much, I could have done without the whole video at the top (tribute to Houston be damned.) Really bummed about not getting Black Cat or Love Would Never Do Without You. She looked fierce, sounded flawless (canned and uncanned--and the Michael similarities were eerie), and I'm sure the Production value on tour is fantastic. It just felt like what it was...an abbreviated show. On another note, HLSR/Reliant still has a lot of work to do if they expect "sold out" crowds like last night rather than the dismal numbers they've had every other night. Getting out of the stadium after the show was nothing short of a nightmare, regardless of where you were sitting. The committee members assigned to the doors were all but ready to just cut and run when the crowd couldn't follow instructions on how to get out of a door (Moo.) Can't argue with the ticket price, but I would be happy to pay $20+ more at Toyota Center not to have to wait 45 minutes to exit the building and another hour to get off the property. Just sayin'. It would take the likes of Prince to bring me back next year. HSLR has lost its charm, and I found myself utterly bored during the Rodeo. Gone are the days of the Dome, and with it the...je ne sais quoi...of the Rodeo of old.

• hey idiot the venue only gave Janet an hour to perform and for tickets priced at $18 dollars you got your moneys worth.stop being a cry baby. And did you really think you would get a good quality sounding concert experiences in a huge stadium i got a 5 magic beans to sell you. if you wanted a real Janet concert go to her REAL show the up close and personal tour which has a total run time of 1hr and 40 mins.Janet gave a mini concert to advertise her world tour don't get mad at her you got what you paid for.

• HORRIBLE sound. I could barely make out a word of her prerecorded introduction tape. And the concert wasn't much better. Great choreography though. And, counting her ten minute costume change break, she played perhaps 35-40 minuttes max. Not my idea of a good concert, even for the Rodeo.
