Weezer, Ween, Sharon Jones, Bun B Head Summer Fest Lineup

Weezer, Ween, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Yeasayer and Houston rappers Z-Ro and Bun B head up the lineup for the 2011 Free Press Summer Fest, the organizers announced seconds ago via a video presentation at Fitzgerald's, which Summer Fest's creators Omar Afra (of Montrose monthly Free Press Houston) and Jagi Katial (of Pegstar concerts) bought and renovated last summer.

Other artists announced Monday night were MF Doom, Cut Copy, the Black Dahlia Murder, Junior Brown, Tobacco, the Black Angels, HEALTH, Lower Dens and Fucked Up.
Houston bands appearing at Eleanor Tinsley Park June 4 and 5 include Indian Jewelry, Espantapajaros, Rivers, Wild Moccasins, Finnegan, Wicked Poseur, Pasadena Napalm Division, Clockpole, Free Radicals and Delicious Milk.
A few more: Cavernous, Somosuno, American Fangs, The Handshake, Woozy Helmet, The Niceguys, Venomous Maximus, Linus Pauling Quartet, The Hates, Young Girls, Glasnost, Female Demand, Black Congress, Buxton, The Eastern Sea, Weird Party, Dead Revolt, Roky Moon & BOLT, Perseph One, Disfrutalo, Robert Ellis, Jody Seabody & the Whirls, Los Skarnales, Young Mammals, The Manichean, Sideshow Tramps, Tax the Wolf, The Mahas, By the End of Tonight, Grandfather Child and Hayes Carll.
One Houston act conspicuous by its absence is Golden Axe, rumored to have broken up some weeks ago.
One of the festival's main headliners - possibly as important as one of the two nights' closing performers - will not be announced for approximately another month, Afra said. Everyone else announced Monday night is after the jump.
