Nitzer Ebb, Part 2: "Faith Healers"

​Wednesday, Rocks Off spoke with Nitzer Ebb about their return to Houston, once a city internationally known for its growing electronica scene and rabid EBM fans.

Since the band's reunion earlier this decade, they have consistently dropped in here to find that they are not only not forgotten, but just as celebrated as when they left the game in the '90s.

Rocks Off: You guys have had songs appear on two different Saw album soundtracks. Do you feel that's really the where the music belongs?

Bon Harris: It can belong anywhere really. We always had a varied approach to our music, so across the history of our work there are a lot of moods that we could compliment.

RO: In your last live performance in Houston, I said in the review that your shows treaded the line between concert and sermon. Would you agree with that?

​Douglas McCarthy: I like that a lot. Haha! I played a pastor type role in one of the
Recoil videos for Alan Wilder, "Faith Healer" I believe. I have always enjoyed the perverse showmanship of evangelical pastors, so yeah, I'd agree.

RO: For years we've been hearing about you guys shooting footage for a documentary. Has there been any movement on that?

BH: There is work being done in Germany, by our label there, Major Records. We've been adding footage as we go, things like the DM tour are interesting obviously, and the stuff to go through keeps growing.
