Bun B Hosting Ugandan Breakdance Doc Screening

Thursday at 7 p.m. on the Rice University Campus, a screening of the inspiring documentary Bouncing Cats will be shown with hip-hop legend Bun B hosting a Q&A with the cast. 
Uganda has been called one of the worst places on earth to be a child. Bouncing Cats is about one man's attempt to create a better life for the country's children, using hip-hop as an unlikely tool with a focus on B-boy culture and breakdance.

Many Ugandan children are homeless, victims of war and poverty, and few can afford proper schooling. Yet they walk from miles away to be part of Breakdance Project Uganda (B.P.U.).
Abraham "Abramz" Tekya, who at age seven lost both of his parents to AIDS and was orphaned, founded B.P.U. The documentary follows his journey to use hip-hop culture for positive social change.
Bouncing Cats features narration by Common and interviews with Mos Def, Will.I.Am, and K'Naan.
The screening will be held in Room 100 of Herring Hall on the Rice University campus, 6100 Main. The screening is free and no RSVP is required.
