Just out of the hospital a few days, local bluesman Little Joe Washington will be back onstage Saturday at his old stomping grounds, the Continental, for the Main Street club's free tenth anniversary celebration.

After a successful intestinal surgery last month and a stint in a rehabilitation unit, Washington has bounced back from a gravely ill situation. According to his friend Reg Burns, Washington's set will start at 8:30 p..m. and "Joe will play as long as he is able."

Austin blues label Dialtone Records released a limited-edition vinyl pressing of Washington's 2003 LP Houston Guitar Blues Thursday. Copies are available at Sig's Lagoon, two doors down from the Continental.

According to Dialtone president Eddie Stout, only 500 were pressed.
