First of all, a bit of news: John Mayer is playing the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion with Owl City Sunday, September 5. Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5 at livenation.com
Now, Rocks Off knows many of you are anxious to start your Memorial Day weekend - and many of you already have - when Americans remember our fallen veterans by barbecuing, beaching and getting blasted on Coors Light longnecks. Rocks Off will of course be indulging in our usual Memorial Day ritual of fasting and re-reading the collected works of John Milton.
But if you feel like dragging your sun-scorched, sozzled ass inside and logging onto your computer for a few minutes, here's what we'll have for you Monday:
9 a.m.: Pete Vonder Haar counts down the best soldier songs released since 2000.
11 a.m.: Craig Hlavaty selects 11 songs that won't be on Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity's iPod.
1 p.m.: Jef With One F picks out five songs to honor America's fallen soldiers.
3. p.m.: Craig eulogizes his late, lamented Lala Web site.
So there you have it. Let's remember our fallen heroes, and y'all be sure to drive slow.
