Turning the Screw: Lil' Flip and Bun B Help Haiti, Jay-Z & Beyonce, Trae & Soulja Boy, Chamillionaire, Wyclef, DJ Clue and Funkmaster Flex and More

Welcome back to Turning the Screw, Rocks Off's weekly rap post. It probably won't rhyme, at least most of the time. E-mail tips to introducingliston@gmail.com. Thanks, homies.

Single of the Week: "Feel It In The Air" (Lil' Flip's Haiti Tribute)

Solid stuff here.

Wire to Wire

Bun B - who headlines the "Houston 4 Haiti" relief concert with Slim Thug, Paul Wall and Trae at Warehouse Live at 4 p.m. today (yes, today) - released a new mixtape. Or he didn't. We're not sure. It's called the No Mix Tape, so that's kind of confusing. Also, rather than releasing the tape in its entirety he released the songs individually every few days or so. It's really been inconvenient. But it's still a nice little teaser for his new album (due in March).

As a couple, Jay-Z and Beyonce brought in $122 million from June to June. That's great. Or awful. It could be either. But we do know it's definitely one of those.

Trae has been just about everywhere lately, building buzz for his new album. He seems to be featured on a new song each week, and that's cool. With that said, we'll just go ahead and pretend like we didn't hear that song he featured on for Soulja Boy.

You can now preorder the first Major Pain tape, the new mixtape series from Chamillionaire. It should help tide you over until Venom never gets here. (See what we did there?)

A whole bunch of rappers are doing what they can to provide some relief to the Haitians, and that's good to see. Wyclef however, the one guy you expected to be spearheading this thing, is looking a bit shady right about now.

DJ Clue and Funkmaster Flex took their grievances with one another to Twitter because they're so hood certified. Thug thizzles. That might not be the least tough place to air someone out, but it sure as crap ain't the most.

Snoop Dogg signed Cypress Hill. Is it 1994 again? Oh, speaking of, despite initially being just about unbearable, that Snoop song "I Wanna Rock" has really, really grown on us.

Did you know that Mystikal has been in prison for the last six years? We had no idea. It seems like there should be some type of "Shake Yo' Ass" prison joke to be made here, right?

Kelis would very much like to taste pterodactyl meat.

Killer Mike is offering up some new music for free. The tape is good. Download it.

The whitest bit of news we've ever linked to from Turning the Screw: Justin Timberlake joins Brother Ali on stage at show in Wyoming.
