Lonesome Onry and Mean: Three 2009 Albums That Didn't Get Enough Love

A few more records from 2009 that deserved more mention than they got. Jesse Winchester, Love Filling Station: At 70 years old, the music industry's most notable Vietnam draft dodger delivered as soulful and wise set of songs as anyone on the scene. Love Filling Station has become some of our favorite late-night dinner music. It soothes, yet it digs deep. And when Winchester covers a song, it gets covered!

Jubal Lee Young, Last Free Place in America: Jubal Lee Young is one of the comers in Americana. Finally kicking his 80s hair metal jones, Young has issued two solid albums in eighteen months. He may have written the top Americana love song of 2009 with "Falling For You." And, yes, the boy can sing his ass off.

Joey Harris and the Mentals: Lonesome, Onry and Mean seriously likes us some rock and roll, and we just kept rocking this one all year long. Harris and his band keep that old Beat Farmers spirit alive.
