"it was OK. kind of the lamest one i've been to. Born Liars were solid (if sober), Blackie ruled, The Tons were good, and Buxton were really great even if the sound was too cavernous.

The HP was tight on wrist bands so the Rice Hotel seemed nigh vacant compared to previous years so it wasn;t quite the Party party vibe of prior years. One HP staffer told me that it's smaller this year becasue of the economy, which may be fair but whereas prior years have been a blast and a lot of fun last night's was pleasant it seemed sparly attended and on the aggreagte not particularly meomorable...

Well the Krinkles at NOTSUOH (not part of the HPMAs) continuing to play (to near nobody I would add) despite a woman clearly suffering from an OD and being laid out in the floor in front of the stage as an ambulance was called... well that was momorable but not exactly a good kind of memorable.

Also HOB beign 10 blocks away made that venue a no go. Kidn of lame to have Fat Tony and Blackie scheduled at the same time like 5 blocks apart. Meh."

I had a good time. I parked by la carafe and was able to walk to everything or hitch a ride with friends at times. Benjamin Wesley at rocbar was really cool. Seeing him with a big sound system and lights was really cool. He looked like a d.j. up there.

I played with tha fucking transmissions at rocbar after that and it was a great show! Cornbreadd doing don't take your guns to town stuck in my head for two days. I've only heard him do that once before and it was impressive.

I went to the V.I.P. after that set and drank like 8 mini vitamin waters. the V.I.P. was fun I can't complain about free food and drinks.

Then I got lost trying to find martell's becuase I couldn't read the little tiny map and almost missed my set with BLAGGARDS. We tore that place up the crowd was on top of us. After our set I ran over and saw METAVENGE and felt terrible for voting for pasadena napalm just becuase I didn't know about METAVENGE yet.

Did anybody besides me and ben play two different showcases?
