The Beaumont Enterprise reported today that Scout Bar Beaumont, the hard-rock hub of the Southeast Texas city's Crockett Street Entertainment District was shut down permanently this last weekend for "non-financial reasons,"
according to the Crockett Street property manager. Rocks Off has also heard the club's counterpart in San Antonio will be closing soon as well. We emailed Scout owner Thomas Wilson for more information, but have not heard back yet.
Front-runners to replace the Beastie Boys, who canceled all tour dates and postponed their upcoming album release Monday to allow Adam "MCA" Yauch to recover from salivary-gland cancer, at the Austin City Limits Music Festival: the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. At the moment, this is just an educated guess - the YYYs were just named to replace the Beasties at Lollapalooza, and have a friendly relationship with ACL/Lolla producers C3 Entertainment. Also, the trio has not brought its tour supporting this year's It's Blitz to the South and Southwest yet, and has a whopping hole in its fall tour calendar.

. Bolt's next gig is August 9 at Free Press Houston's Summerfest
in Eleanor Tinsley Park.

and cross your fingers.
