Bruce Springsteen Confirms Second Houston Show in a Year
Alejandro Escovedo with Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band,
"Always a Friend," Toyota Center, April 14, 2008
After last year's sold-out show that ended with both Alejandro Escovedo and Joe Ely duetting with the Boss, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are headed back to Houston for their second show within a year April 8 at Toyota Center. See the Press' review of last April's show here.
Springsteen's official Web site announced the tour, supporting out-today album Working on a Dream, this morning. Tickets go on sale February 7. The tour, which begins April Fool's Day in San Jose, California, also stops at Austin's Frank Erwin Center April 5 before working its way through the East Coast and Midwest and a summer European swing. (Suck it, Dallas... boy, that never gets old.)

In case you haven't heard, Springsteen and company play halftime at Sunday's Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa. Early critical reaction to Dream - recorded when Springsteen couldn't shut his engines down after 2007's Magic - has been somewhat mixed, except for the places that might as well be on the Asbury Park payroll: Rolling Stone gives it five stars.
Shocker, that.
