The year: 1963. A good wife was only as good as the callous on her thimble finger. So many socks to darn, so many hems to raise, and so few hours in the day. Singer to the rescue! What will she sew first? Mittens for Little Tommy? A scarf for Sis? Some slippers for her hard-working husband?

With the convenience and style of Singer at her fingertips, mom may never need to take off her housecoat again! What I really love about this cover is the excitement of Little Tommy there. What could mom sew that could possibly elicit such a reaction? Something else about the kid disturbs me. He reminds me of something.
