Now this, as rapper Yung Berg might say, is some other shit. Meet Android Lust, the performing alias of Bangladesh-born singer/musician Shikhee, who probably never met a pair of thigh-high stilletto boots she couldn't totally own. Now based in New York and frightening small children and the faint of heart since 1996, Shikee sounds like Kate Bush meets KMFDM - icily enticing vocals with a fair amount of seductive promise atop a mountain of industrial guitars, clicking keyboards and percolating beats.
Needless to say, it's all very, very Goth; AL's song titles include "Suffer the Flesh," "Where Angels Lie (Writhing)," "Lover Thine" and "Stained." Its/her latest album, Devour, Rise, and Take Flight, was released in 2006 on Brooklyn's Projekt Records. "Shikhee moves and sways like a queen wasp while she performs," offers Ink19.com.
