Tonight: The McKenzies on KTRU; Future Clouds & Radar at Mucky Duck

Not a bad live-music agenda for a Tuesday night. Especially since you don't even need to leave your house/car for the first one. Local young'uns the McKenzies, whose brisk power-pop touched off quite the commenting spree after their Secret Saturday Festival set a couple weeks back (then impressed Rocks Off quite a bit the next night at Boondocks), play at 9 p.m. live on KTRU's (91.7 FM) The Local Show. Skyline Network honcho adr precedes the group at 8 p.m., presumably to talk about his new "Old Farts" concert series at the Mink. (More on that one tomorrow.)

If psychedelic pop a la the Zombies or Sgt. Pepper's is more your thang, former Cotton Mather frontman Robert Harrison brings his new group Future Clouds & Radar down from Austin to play dreamweavers with neighbor and Conroe native Aimee Bobruk at McGonigel's Mucky Duck.

And there's always Umbrella Man at the Continental Club. Hard to go wrong there either. - Chris Gray
