The Roaster Meets Cracker Barrel
Perhaps it was inevitable: Allen Parkway Village native Kenny Rogers, who owned his own chain of rotesserie-chicken restaraunts in the '90s and shall forever after be known as "The Roaster," has partnered with home-cooking restaraunt franchise Cracker Barrel (mmm... that's good eatin') to release a greatest-hits CD, Kenny Rogers: 50 Years. The disc is available exclusively at Cracker Barrels nationwide starting today; there are seven Cracker Barrels in the Houston area.

The Davis High School graduate is currently working the casino circuit; he'll be at the Choctaw Grounds & Amphitheatre in Tuskahoma, Oklahoma (about 200 miles northeast of Dallas) Saturday night if you feel like driving up. More famous in recent years for his radical plastic surgery than his music, Rogers last broke the Top 20 with 2005's "I Can't Unlove You," which reached No. 17 on Billboard's country singles chart.
