Tonight: Todd Rundgren at Warehouse Live

Categories: Playbill

Todd Rundgren, who plays Warehouse Live's studio tonight (tickets still available), has had one of the more interesting careers in pop music history. Most people doubtless know him from this song...

...or this one...

...but like Jimi Hendrix said, it goes a little deeper than that. Here are few of Rundgren's credits you may not know. He was engineer for the Band's 1970 LP Stage Fright, and performed on the Ramones-heavy soundtrack to the 1981 film Rock & Roll High School. In the '90s, Rundgren handled vocal arrangements for Celine Dion's 1996 blockbuster Falling Into You, and "voices" - which is somehow different from vocal arrangements, apparently - for anti-pop provocateurs the Residents' 1995 LP Gingerbread Man. Rundgren has also produced or co-produced dozens of albums, including the following... - Chris Gray

Badfinger, Straight Up (1971, "Baby Blue")

Foghat, Foghat (1972, "I Just Want to Make Love to You"...LONG)

New York Dolls, New York Dolls (1973, "Personality Crisis")

Hall & Oates, Along the Red Ledge (1978, "It's a Laugh")

Patti Smith Group, Wave (1979, "Dancing Barefoot")
