Trae and Slim Thug, "Nothing to a Boss"
...who, Rocks Off has just learned, was honored with a proclamation naming Tuesday, July 22 "Trae Day" - and read by Mayor Bill White himself - at today's City Council meeting. Why, you ask? Trae told Fox 26 Morning News that very thing. Amazingly enough, it also turns out he's the first local rapper to be so honored. Congratulations are in order, to be sure, but Rocks Off can't help but wonder how hard it would have been to make July 4 "Geto Boys Day."
Anyhow, Trae has also been nominated for Mixtape Monster and the first-ever Pimp C Trillest Award at next month's Ozone awards at the George R. Brown Convention Center. "Swang" on that, haters! - Chris Gray
