Brazilian superstar Djavan makes his Houston debut today — after more than 30 years in the music business, it’s about time he got around to us. A mixture of pop and cool jazz, Djavan’s music is exceedingly mellow and romantic. Winner of a Latin Grammy for “Acelerou,” Djavan is equally well known as a writer and a performer; his tunes have been recorded by Carmen McRae, Al Jarreau and Maria Bethânia.
