Within a week of Cactus, another Houston music institution returns from the grave. This Friday, Tejano group Intocable will be the first act to grace the new stage at the Arena Theater. El Tri – “the Rolling Stones of Mexico” – and norteño behemoths Los Tigres del Norte are also on the slate of this month’s shows.
The new Arena will be run by a group headed by Dallas night club owner / concert promoter Alfredo Hinojosa, who is leasing the group from the Houston-based limited partnership that owns the building. Former Pinche Flojo label head and local rock en español champion Joshua Mares has signed on as the venue’s spokesman.
