All Up in the Ozone

Categories: Whatever
Houston DJ and “mixtape mogul” Kidd Crisco, whose “Block Party” goes live at 7 p.m. every weeknight on Party 104.9 while you troll Richmond and Westheimer in your candy-painted whip, is a finalist in this year’s Tastemaker contest, sponsored by Ozone magazine and the TJ’s DJs Web site. To vote, go to Crisco’s MySpace page or just here, but hurry, you’ve only got about another week. If Crisco or any of these other folks win, they’ll represent H-town to the fullest at the Tastemaker DJ/Music Conference and second annual Ozone Awards August 10 to 13 in Miami.

While you’re there, show Devin the Dude (Best Rap Album, Most Slept-On Artist), Beyonce (Best R&B Album, Best Female R&B Artist), Letoya Luckett (Best Female R&B Artist), UGK (Best Rap Group), Chamillionaire (Mixtape Monster), Trae (Most Slept-On Artist), Rob G (Best Mixtape/Street Album), Bun B (Best Lyricist), Pimp C (Best Male Rap Artist, Best Video), Austin’s Rapid Ric (Best Mixtape DJ), and your choice in the “Patiently Waiting: Texas” category some old-fashioned hometown H-town love too. Damn, that’s a lot of mouse-clicking – best get to it. Crisco, by the way, also spins Thursdays at Next, 2020 McKinney, with DJ Ebonix, Joke tha Smoke, and Terry-Terr. 18 and up for the ladies, 21 and up for dudes. – Chris Gray
