Austin is heating up for SXSW. Okay, it's not exactly heating up, since the city was doused in rain yesterday, but signs of the incoming industry storm are everywhere.
Pretty much every venue in town has the 2 Ss, the X and the W on a placard outside its doors. The light poles downtown have been wrapped in plastic, to protect them from the stickering horde. And Sixth Street is already being overrun by clumps of four dudes, all dressed alike, all drunk, and all presumably in some sort of band or another.
We've got a whole team of HouStoners rolling up to Austin tonight and tomorrow. Get ready for nonstop coverage. — Keith Plocek
