$1.7 Million Pot Field Raided in Brenham

Categories: Crime

No word yet on whether the farmers looked like this.
A 50-acre pot farm with nearly 3,450 plants and a street value of $1.75 million was raided by municipal, county and state authorities in Brenham Monday.

No suspects were located in the seizure, which is the sixth "marijuana growing operation shut down in Washington County since January 2013," according to the Montgomery County Police Reporter.

Citing Washington County Sheriff Otta Hanak, the Police Reporter stated that county sheriffs, Brenham police officers, Texas Highway Patrol troopers, and DPS helicopters assisted in the search and seizure.

"Evidence was found to support the fact that the suspects had been living in the wooded area near the fields," according to the story. "That evidence is currently under investigation and is being analyzed."

Also taken into evidence were approximately 3,450 pot plants, "ranging from two to eight feet high."

Insert "high" joke here.
