Perry: ISIS Has (Maybe) Entered Texas Through Mexico Border

If you live in Texas, ISIS might be a real threat--at least according to Gov. Rick Perry.

At an immigration forum in Washington on Thursday, and in a subsequent statement shot out by his federal political action committee, RickPAC, Perry stated that people affiliated with the extremist Islamic State of Iraq and Syria may have already capitalized on the United States' loosely-secured southern border with Mexico, using it to enter US soil.

In language reminiscent of wartime jargon, Perry said there is no way of knowing exactly who is "penetrating" Texas because of the current state of border security. Hence why Perry last month ordered 1,000 National Guard troops to the Texas-Mexico border as a "force multiplier" to support state and local law enforcement officers.

While Perry conceded there's no evidence of the terrorist group ISIS infiltrating the country via the Texas-Mexico border, he used news of the recent brutal execution of American photojournalist James Foley as reason to warn Americans. "The recent murder of an American photojournalist confirms the threat we face," Perry said in his statement. "We must confront this cancer before it spreads to America if it hasn't already."

In his remarks before the conservative think-tank The Heritage Foundation, Perry said, "We have no clear evidence of that but your common sense tells you when we've seen the number of criminal activities that have occurred -- and I'm talking about the assaults, the rapes, the murders -- by individuals who have come into this country illegally over the last five years, the idea that they would not be looking at [the border] ... is not a good place to be."

Considering Perry's still acting like potential 2016 presidential candidate, it's likely he used the immigration event at the conservative think tank as an opportunity to talk about a larger scale foreign policy agenda regarding Iraq and Syria. Let's hope a President Perry would insist on "clear evidence" before sounding the alarm.

ISIS wants a caliphate in the region where they are fighting; they don't care so much about the US as long as we don't stand in their way. And there are easier ways to enter the states that doing a multi-day border crossing led by a coyote.

to all you naysayers and stoners who commented here, you better wake up and take creedence to what Perry says because you are grossly misinformed with your head up your butt.  i work and live in the middle east and what he says/thinks has validity.  these people are hell bent on destroying America as we know it and will do anything, let me repeat that, anything by any means to carry out their jihad, and that includes taking adavantage of an open border.  evidence may not be in abundance but know the facts, they are there or soon will be.  you better wake up and put down those wakcy cigarettes and pay attention or you may have to learn how to speak arabic before long. its happening here in the middle east and will happen back home.

Dumbass has no evidence. Has he come out against the four foot long fire ants invading from Mexico that have not been discovered yet? Just wait, he will.
