In addition to the kind of heat and humidity that makes Houston seem like Denver, their summers include frequent sudden flash flooding thanks to downpours during the rainy season.

Mayank Sangdod it was 70's yesterday...we've had a really cool summer...dry heat (Dallas) is wayyyy easier than humid/moist, pollution ridden heat (Houston)....also...looks like Houston really has a complex "must attack other cities to look good".. smh lol

Exactly. I'm from Dallas, live in Houston. I love it here but this "rivalry" is completely one sided. You will never hear a Dallasite even mentioning Houston, much less hating. Let it go, Houston

Well said Jesse. I lived in DFW my whole life before I moved to Houston seven years ago. Never heard or read anything about how much better Dallas is, nobody even talked about Houston. But down here, it's a common theme on the radio or Facebook or whatever. I've chalked it up to a huge inferiority complex as well. I mean come on, it's still Texas!

Who the hell says Houston's miserable? That's what air conditioning was invented for. Sheesh! PS: the US Congress used to meet in the summer, without big recesses. A lot got done then just so they could get the hell out of town

Just to add to your Luxor story...remember going to the Sound and Light show at night and pulling out a moisturized towelette and it was the consistency of waxed paper before it reached your face.  Now that's hot!!!  Also, I concur with those of you saying that humidity is good for your skin.  The best complexions in the US are on the Gulf Coast and maybe San Francisco.  Be miserable but be beautiful! ):

If a city is so awesome, why does it have to consistently keep comparing itself to other places in an effort to prove it to itself? Just like with the Texans. You'll never see a Texans win without some dipshit following with "Cowboys suck". Stand on your own feet, people.

But only one has to print an article about the other every 30 seconds

Both cities suck major league balls.

You guys don't know heat. Try Laredo, Texas with Texas' highest average temperatures. It's common for it to go 90+ days over a 100 in a row during summer and quite a few days over 110 F. Now, that's hot!

Currently 78 in Dallas, 91 in Houston.......humidity is also really good for heat index.....

More like irrefutable proof of a sad inferiority complex

Besides...humidity is good for the skin, no leather faces 'round here!

Uh..Houston has a breeze, at least (I live in Houston) with afternoon thundershowers that bring down the temps. I was in Dallas last week and I swear it was hotter than hell..I rode a few rollercoaster rides with the devil himself and he was complaining about the heat!

Houston is the second-hottest I've ever been. The first hottest was 29 Palms CA last week, where the wind felt like it was coming out of an oven and the locals claimed it was unseasonably cool. Eff that.

Lived in both places and htown summers are worse than Dallas. Humidity is the deciding factor

Article number 5,589,432 this year mentioning Dallas.
