Who needs a gun for protection when you have this?
When your life is on the line, at the wrong end of a pistol, you really have to do whatever you can to ensure you survive. Case in point: The north Harris County man who last week used his own lawn mower after being attacked for his wallet.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, there are still no leads on the suspect after it released a video of the Friday morning robbery attempt in the 1000 block of Progresso Drive this week. The video was taken from a surveillance camera across the street; you can see the would-be robber hop out of a car and run up on a 56-year-old man mowing his lawn, demanding his wallet. He runs back and gets into a Chevy and pulls off.

It's a little hard to make out -- you can take a look at the video down below for yourself -- but the man gets shot and uses his mowing machine to get the robber off of him after he's knocked to the ground. It's not clear if the mower was one of those old-school rotary numbers or a motorized version.

The quick-thinking lawn-mower man was taken to Ben Taub Hospital for a non-life-threatening wound and released, according to the sheriff's office.

Sheriff's investigators believe the alleged robber may be responsible for other aggravated robberies in north Harris County.
