Schaub Watch 2014: Could He Stay or Should He Go?

A mini bidding war for Matt "Set Your Watch to My Pick Sixness, Bitches!" Schaub.

Of the three teams mentioned above (Browns, Raiders, Jets), the Browns seem to make the most sense with former Texans OC Kyle Shanahan on board as the offensive coordinator there. The Raiders would easily be the most entertaining, since the league could probably create a 30-minute show for the NFL Network that would run the week after Raiders home games where we watch Schaub try to make it to his car without getting murdered.

As for the Jets, signing Schaub would mean they signed both guys whose jerseys are on "Clearance" on the Texans' website. It seems there's some symmetry in all that.

Schaub is at the stage of his career that Drew Bledsoe was when Tony Rome took over and Bernie Kosar when Bill Belichick gave him the hook.  As a back up, he's too expensive, but regardless, Keenum can do the back up so a trade would be financially helpful.  Should he stay period?  Only if O'Brien is willing to take the heat.

screw the so-called fans. this will come down to a business and a football decision. if we draft a QB and it is deemed we need a veteran bridge QB, Schaub could qualify, although at a price that's probably too high. per this scenario, there may be a few other vets who could serve that purpose at a lower price. despite last season, Schaub could still prove to be a credible starting QB in the right situation

There is certainly a chance that Schaub will be here though that will drive many fans crazy. So much depends on how O'Brien and Smith play the draft and the qbs that are available on the free agency market. I can see keeping Schaub and trading up in the draft to get a second round qb, taking Colwney as #1.
